Catherine Davies, director of the Digital Healthcare Council said:
“It is only right that hardworking NHS staff are given the pay rise they fully deserve. However, it is vital that the government also meets its commitment to invest in digital and new technology, as set out in last month’s Plan for Digital Health and Social Care.
“Digital technology can revolutionise health and social care, but we are currently only scratching the surface of what is possible. New technology can also support staff work at the top of their skillset and increase capacity by reducing admin burden. If we slow down or stop the rollout of new tech and diagnostic capacity across health and social care, we will fall short of meeting our collective ambitions.”
