Speaking in the HSJ about NHS plans to develop a more pluralistic market for digital outpatient appointments, DHC Director, Graham Kendall said:
“Over the past few years the centre has made a consistent and compelling case for the importance of moving on from the era of top-down procurements and one-size-fits-all approaches.
“We all understand the need to move quickly in the context of covid, but the mounting backlog and the scale of the challenge are precisely why it’s so important to achieve a sustainable long-term shift in how we run appointments. Installing a monopoly provider is unlikely to achieve that.”
